Winger’s best-known fan art involved hyper-endowed hermaphrodite characters.

[Thanks to Taral Wayne for the story.]

  1. There was a little confusion in the source material for this story. I believe Flayrah, the site where the original story was posted, has confused Doug’s career highlight for that of his friend Bob Guthrie, also an artist, and likely the souce of Flayrah’s information. Bob has worked has worked at an animation studio, and had several years of experience with a commercial art studio that designed packaging for various toy companies. To my knowledge, Doug had never been employed in either capacity. However, the confusion may have entered the picture because Doug did sometimes assist his friend, Bob (and, Steve, another artist in the household) with their work when deadlines loomed. I wish I had noticed this before I directed you to Flayrah’s story.

  2. Aww. Just heard about this from Jeremy Kidd, who also talks to Bob. Doug was over the top, but always had fun with it.
