Voting has begun in the first round of the Goodreads Choice Awards: The Best Books 2022 and will continue through November 27.
The 2022 Goodreads Choice Awards have two rounds of voting open to all registered Goodreads members. Winners will be announced December 08, 2022.
In the first round there are 20 books in each of the 17 categories, and members can vote for one book in each category.
In the final round, which runs November 29-December 4, the field narrows to the top 10 books in each category, and members will vote for the winners.
Goodreads selected the first round nominees by analyzing the books rated and reviewed on the platform. A book may be nominated in no more than one genre category, but can also be nominated in the Debut Novel category. Only one book in a series may be nominated per category. An author may receive multiple nominations within a single category if he or she has more than one eligible series or more than one eligible stand-alone book.
In addition to the categories listed below, there also are some genre works in the Best Middle Grade & Children’s, and Best Debut Novel categories.
[Apologies for the gray band across the first row of titles in the Science Fiction category — multiple attempts at making a screencap of the page produced the same problematic result.]
Kind of disappointing. I’ve read some really good books from this year but only found two that made it through the Goodreads algorithm.
