On Heinlein’s birthday, July 7, the winners of The Heinlein Society’s two $750 undergraduate scholarships for STEM-subject majors were announced.
- Elias Anderson, an entering freshman at St. Vincent College in Pennsylvania, who will major in Engineering and Mathematics. He hopes to pursue a career in the space industry.
- Timothy Brown, a sophomore at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, whose major is Chemical Engineering. He is also working as an intern with an engineering company to gain first-hand experience as guidance for his post-graduation career path.
Applicants were judged on their 1,000 word essays and their community service.
