Michele Lundgren, wife of sff artist Carl Lundgren, is one of 16 Michigan residents charged with multiple felonies for their role in the alleged false electors scheme following the 2020 U.S. presidential election.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced yesterday Lundgren and each of the other defendants have been charged with:
- One count of Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, a 14-year felony,
- Two counts of Forgery, a 14-year felony,
- One count of Conspiracy to Commit Uttering and Publishing, a 14-year felony,
- One count of Uttering and Publishing, a 14-year felony,
- One count of Conspiracy to Commit Election Law Forgery, a 5-year felony, and,
- Two counts of Election Law Forgery, a 5-year felony.
“The false electors’ actions undermined the public’s faith in the integrity of our elections and, we believe, also plainly violated the laws by which we administer our elections in Michigan,” said Nessel. “My department has prosecuted numerous cases of election law violations throughout my tenure, and it would be malfeasance of the greatest magnitude if my department failed to act here in the face of overwhelming evidence of an organized effort to circumvent the lawfully cast ballots of millions of Michigan voters in a presidential election.”
The defendants are alleged to have met covertly in the basement of the Michigan Republican Party headquarters on December 14, 2020 and signed their names to multiple certificates stating they were the “duly elected and qualified electors for President and Vice President of the United States of America for the State of Michigan.” These false documents were then transmitted to the United States Senate and National Archives in a coordinated effort to award the state’s electoral votes to the candidate of their choosing, in place of the candidates actually elected by the people of Michigan.
Each of the 16 charged defendants will next appear in 54-A District Court in Ingham County, MI (site of the state capital) for individual arraignments.
Detroit resident Michele Lundgren is married to Carl Lundgren, famous for his rock music poster art, who also has painted hundreds of sff book covers. He co-founded the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA) and won four Chesley Awards between 1985-1995. She has been doing artwork of her own as a photographer; two books, The Photographic Eye and Side Streets.
In 2022 Michele Lundgren unsuccessfully ran as a Republican candidate for the Michigan House of Representatives in District 9. She was decisively defeated by a Democrat who received 91% of the vote.

On paper she’s looking at 85 years. In reality, she’ll probably get 5-10 and be on probation/house arrest. Not to mention fines and lawyer fees. Probably lose the right to vote for the rest of her life. All for that dumb ass grifter.

Michele was interviewed by WDIV Channel 4 out of Detroit. She claims she thought she was coming as a Republican delegate, not as an elector. she says she was called to a meeting at GOP headquarters, when they entered the meeting room they were asked to sign in on index cards. What the hell kind of “delegate” is Michelle Lundgren claiming to have been?
“I was a little innocent bystander” is not a very credible claim.
A Republican delegate is a voting member of the nominating convention, hence votes on both rules changes brought forth, and the ultimate selection of the party’s nominee. In the Republican party, unlike the Democratic party, delegates are chosen based on local votes and are tightly bound to vote to their area’s elected candidate at the convention.
Electors are often (but not always) chosen from the delegates. Consequently, a confusion on Michele’s part (at least at the beginning) between having been a delegate, and being in line to be an elector if Trump had won Michigan, is believable. And if her story is true that her registration signature was illegally transferred to the “fake electors” letter holds up to examination, then there would be quite a few ramifications from that. However, having watched the video of the fake electors trying to storm the gates, I cannot imagine how someone could be there and not be aware that they were being presented as electors.
Well she’s entered the “find out” phase. Thoughts & prayers…
What’s kind of pathetic about Michele Lundgren in that video is that she is clearly photobombing until she is led away by her codefendant Meshawn Maddock. And she tries it again and is redirected by Amy Facchinello. Her codefendants seemed to think she was being a problem. Was she playing to Carl’s camera, or to cameras in general?

Yeah, I’ve actually been a delegate to the Colorado State Democratic Convention and Democratic State Assembly, as well as a delegate to the Washington State King County Democratic Convention, so I know how the system works and how the Democratic system varies from the Republicans and from state to state.
My point was that showing up at the State Capitol “delivering electoral votes” or claiming to be electors has zero to do with the party convention systems. You’re not actually a “delegate” of anything when you try to do that.
Yep. She’d have had to be deaf or in a coma or something.
I assume that electors (what folks who vote in the Electoral College are called) would be chosen by each candidate’s party. So there would be individuals who would be Republican electors for Trump from California, for example. They just would not serve since the state went for Biden. But these folks don’t seem to be among that number of potential electors.

I guess we forget that there are two sides to every story.
I’ve been with my wife Michele, through all of this, and I know that she did nothing wrong. (Outside of being a camera hog).
Two sets of 3 FBI Agents (One a member of the National Archives).
came to the house and spent two hours each interviewing her a couple of years ago.
They went through all of her correspondence found that she commited no crime.
The AG in Michigan has other ideas, seemingly political.
Michele has a brain condition called CAA and her mental functions are deteriorating, but I know that she did nothing wrong.
