  2. But really, you know, it has to be a _genuine_ Volkswagen — the kind with a tiny rear window and a little lever to flip to get gasoline from the reserve tank when the bigger one goes empty.

  3. I remember that tiny rear window in the earliest models! Didn’t know about the lever. By the time I owned one, the reserve tank somehow kicked in by itself.
