Sad news. Wonderfully charming screen personality.
He was tremendous in BBC’s ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL series.
I think his best endearing role for me was as Siegfried Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small a long running series about a British rural vet practice set between the Wars.
I concur, he’ll always be Siegfried Farnon for me. With his brother Tristan played by Peter Davidson.
All Creatures Great and Small helped me get through grad school.
Add me as another one who loved him in All Creatures Great and Small.
All Creatures Great and Small was a fixture of my childhood. Mostly because it was filmed in the Dales, where our family’s farm is, so we would watch to see who and what we would recognise.
