“Rory Root, founder of Comic Relief in Berkeley, a huge activist in comics including being a comics convention runner, died Monday in the hospital while being operated on for a seriously ruptured hernia,” said Tom Whitmore in a post to the Smofs list. “The Comic Relief webpage is being turned into a temporary memorial site.”
