Here’s a peek but remember, the first rule of Star Trek: Discovery is — Don’t ask when it’s going to air….
Before Kirk, Spock and the Enterprise there was Discovery. Now, one of the most iconic and influential global franchises returns to television with Star Trek: Discovery.
This looked better than I thought but I’m still leery of signing up for another streaming service.
The video didn’t work for me (possibly one of those wretched country-restricted thingamies) but this one worked just fine, should anyone else have problems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqN9FacIuWw
Neither available in Canada it seems.
Wait, it’s another one set in the past? So it’ll look more futuristic and just confuse/annoy me.
Gah, I’m not looking to buy a streaming service either.
Still, the trailer’s pretty cool.
welp, it kinda looks like JJ Abrams on the small screen, and it kinda sounds like the first movie, and I’m kinda…if I had any interest, I’d be uninterested, kinda
I can’t help but ask about timelines:

hairless klingons! argh
mmm, Why do they change the look of the Klingons again? If you want to be historical, be historical!
I will give this a try (Huge fan of TNG and DS9, fan of season 1 of TOS indifferent to the rest), but I wonder why they do prequels instead of sequels, which would give them way more wriggle room when it comes to the storyline.
It will be shown in Canada–I think on the Bell network.
@Peer Sylvester: “would give them way more wriggle room” – exactly!
@Peer Sylvester: I know, right? It’s like on Next Generation, they went and had a BALD human! After they’d already established their look in the otiginal series! What the heck is it with making changes like that?
