By JJ: DisCon III has announced the 2021 Hugo Award Finalists. Since the Hugo Voter’s packet will take awhile to arrive, if you’d like to get a head start on your reading, you can use this handy guide to find material which is available for free online. Where available in their entirety, works are linked (most of the Novelettes and Short Stories are free, as are the Pro and Fan Artist images, and many of the Semiprozines and Fanzines).
If not available for free, an Amazon or other purchase link is provided. If a free excerpt is available online, it has been linked.
If I’ve missed an excerpt, or a link doesn’t work, please let me know in the comments, and I’ll get it fixed.
Fair notice: All Amazon links are referrer URLs which benefit fan site Worlds Without End.

Thanks for informing me of this post. I’m glad to see they regard the name as a mistake to correct in the future.

@JJ: Thanks again for this post, and I want to draw attention to your addition of a full-audio link the “Beowulf.” As Aunt Jet says in “Practical Magic,” “Most excellent!” 😀 Thanks to @Doug for posting the link to That Thread and to you for updating this post, @JJ!
I’d love a way to subscribe to posts like this, to get updates to the post itself (like we can subscribe to comments when leaving a comment). If there’s some magic way to do this via WordPress, someone, please let me know.
@Kendall,
When you make a comment, you can tick the “Notify me of follow-up comments by email.” to see comments posted after yours.
A while ago I ticked the “Notify me of new posts by email.” which I believe alerts me to new posts at File770 by email; I do get notified of new File770 posts by email.
I think Kendall is looking for a way to know when the post itself is updated with new information/links, not just when there is a new comment. Of course, if JJ/Mike comments whenever a change is made (as Mike did when changing the link to the helicopter story), then subscribing to the comments satisfy the desire to know when changes are made.
@Soon Lee: Thanks, but @Andrew (not Werdna) has the right of it. I’d love to know when the actual post has been edited, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a way. Hmm, I’d be happy if that were just part of subscribing to comments, actually; if I comment on a post, odds are good I’d care about edits to the post, not just ones like this. 😉
(I’m subscribed to comments on this post, but I don’t sign up for the “new posts” e-mails since I use the RSS feed. Though, blush, I’m horribly behind on File 770! BLUSH.)
BTW sorry to derail the comments with this question.
@Kendall & Andrew,
Got it now, but I don’t have a solution to that problem.
Thanks for posting a note about the addition of a link to the full Beowolf video reading, Kendall. Ordinarily, I try to mention substantial changes like that, but I was tired and busy with other things and missed doing so, so thanks for calling attention to it.

Don’t forget Sheila Williams also had the original anthology Entanglements.
Thanks for the correction, Laura! I’ve updated the post.
I mentioned Entanglements in the 3rd comment to this post. Not to criticize, of course I’m aware that this is a huge labour of love and service to the community.
StephenfromOttawa: I mentioned Entanglements in the 3rd comment to this post.
My apologies, Stephen. I went to bed after this was posted, and when I got up I likely missed it while fending off claims that I was trying to sabotage finalists by not linking to bad URLs. 😐
I appreciate it when you and the rest of the Filers post corrections on any of the annual Hugo eligibility posts. They’re a massive undertaking, and it’s inevitable that I will miss things, so the crowdsourced updates really help. 🙂
I actually noticed it was missing here because I was checking the big editor-sf post for details and saw it there!
