Oh, my. That Ms. Marvel is just so adorable. So many cool costumes.
The top picture is Antonelli and Wright, and the bottom is the Best Novel nominees. I make it (left to right) Anne Sowards (on behalf of Butcher, I guess), Kevin J Anderson, Addison/Monette, Ken Liu, Ann Leckie.
Lots of great photos in that set. Judging from afar, there were more cosplayers than I expected to see at Worldcon and they’re a young, enthusiastic bunch. If I was marketing MidAmericon I’d want to make sure we were doing as much cool stuff to attract them as we could.
I may be reading too much into it, but is Antonelli sneering at the camera in that top picture?
I’m glad all the people in the second one look happy.

Oh, those are just the Masquerade competitors. From what I saw, there were (wild-ass guess on my part) at least a couple hundred different hall costumes during the con, ranging from SF to Fantasy to Comics Superheroes — and a lot of them were just as fabulous as the Masquerade competitors (or even more so).
