New Tiptree Award Website Looks Great

The redesigned James Tiptree, Jr. Literary Award website went live this month. All the hard work has paid off.

Debbie Notkin says the new site was years in the making, and she lavished thanks on Frances d’Ath for all her efforts.

The site’s crown jewel is the searchable James Tiptree, Jr. Award database, which not only returns the names of winners and honorees, but links to their author websites, and to their bibliographies on the Internet Science Fiction Database.

More awards could use something similar to the concise explanation of the Tiptree Award selection process.

In the store, Tiptree anthologies, cookbooks, temporary tattoos and more can be purchased using Paypal or by check. (Get your Space Babe Tattoos for $1 each.)

And Tiptree Award recommendations are being taken online for the 2016 awards (which will be given in 2017). Add yours throughout the year.

  1. I love the award process graphic. The rest sounds great.

Wow, the initial work to put this together blows my mind. What a great resource and additional way to honor the winners.

  2. As an ISFDB editor, I’ll admit that with all the work we put into maintaining that database, it’s a pleasure when other folks take advantage of it this way. However, I will correct you on the name. It’s not a “Science Fiction” database; it includes fantasy, horror, etc., hence is deliberately named the “Internet Speculative Fiction Database”.
