Tiptree Award Sets Record

SpaceBabeBIG

The James Tiptree, Jr. Award received 280 nominations by the December 1 deadline, representing about 250 individual works.

The administrators say that’s a record, “and probably double the largest number we’ve ever gotten before!”

A table at the link has been updated with info on 217 recommendations, with others probably still to be entered.

The Tiptree Award is for science fiction or fantasy that expands or explores our understanding of gender.

  1. Hopefully the missing works are the ones that were e-mailed. I know the recommendation I sent in (it wasn’t a book, so it didn’t work with the form) isn’t listed there…

  2. For some weird reason I can’t view the list.

Mike do you happen to have contact info for them? Thingswithbits shows as a placeholder domain.

  3. Iphinome: The link to the Tiptree site is working for me, even now. But here is their contact info —
