Author Jon Del Arroz, whose entire marketing plan depends on provoking conflict and claiming victimization when people react, has announced to the world “Kickstarter Banned Me For Submitting My Space Marine Military Sci-Fi Comic” [Archive.Today link] (while making sure everyone knows about the alternate way to give him money).
For extra credit, he’s gotten himself blocked on X.com by Kickstarter’s Comics Lead Sam “Slam” Kusek.
As usual, JDA says he can’t imagine why there’s an issue, and that no one will give him a proper explanation.
…I received my answer a couple of days later: a permanent ban from creating projects, citing violations of community guidelines without specifying what they were. It was clear that the mass reporting going on during my last campaign got my account flagged even though I’d done nothing wrong….

Like JDA we’re left to guess, but maybe Kickstarter isn’t down with his misogynistic attacks on female comics creators? Maybe they’re not pleased to read his belittling remarks about Black writers?
Kickstarter is just the latest platform to ban JDA. He was banned from Patreon for a hate speech violation in 2022. That same year JDA was suspended and then fully removed from the Games Manufacturers Association – a group for tabletop game publishers – “for hate speech and bullying”.
Of course, once banned someplace JDA doesn’t always stay banned. He was permabanned from Twitter in 2021 but his account was restored in 2022 even before Elon Musk bought the company.

And thereby nothing of any value was lost.
Some individuals are destined for the stars, others always for, well, the shit pile. JDA is the latter.
He could up his game. I’m sure the Westboro Badtaste Church would welcome him with open arms.
Oh, the shock, the shock.
JDA still being JDA, and getting the consequences thereof.
…who?
@John WInkelman, nobody of any consequence.
Jon Del Arroz has a spectacular ability to never be interesting. If there’s a controversy about the obnoxious antics of somebody like Larry Correia or Brad Torgersen, you can read about it without immediately regretting that you bothered. Del Arroz works much harder to get negative attention and the only reward for your time is soul-crushing tedium.
