2023 Writers Guild Awards

Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) tonight announced the winners of the 2023 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional categories during concurrent ceremonies.

Everything Everywhere All at Once won the award for Original Screenplay. Severance won two television category awards.

The Writers Guild announced nominations for the 2023 Writers Guild Awards on January 11.  The awards for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2022 will be presented on March 5.

Andor and Severance are both Drama Series and New Series finalists.

The winners of the 2022 Writers Guild Awards for outstanding achievement in writing for film, television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional categories were announced March 20 by the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) during a joint, virtual ceremony.

2022 Writers Guild Awards: Television Writing Nominations Announced

Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) have announced nominations for outstanding achievement in television, new media, news, radio/audio, and promotional writing during 2021. Winners will be revealed on March 20.

Genre shows with two nominations include The Handmaid’s Tale (Drama Series, Episodic Drama), and Loki (Drama Series, New Series). Animated series Bob’s Burgers and The Simpsons also scored two.

Other genre shows up for the award are: What We Do in the Shadows (Comedy Series), American Horror Story: Double Feature (Original Long Form), The Underground Railroad and WandaVision (both Adapted Long Form), and The Expanse (Adapted Short Form New Media).

Also nominated in the News Script – Analysis, Feature, Or Commentary category is “Woman in Motion: Star Trek’s Nichelle Nichols and The Transformation of NASA” from CBS Sunday Morning.
