Cats Sleep on SFF: Shards of Earth

Michelle Morrell calls cats and books “Two of my favorite things!”

Loki is the tabby, our dim but sweet bruiser. He has tried to jump through a few too many closed windows in his life and it shows. He is part Maine Coon and weighs more than a bowling ball, which becomes obvious when he gets the zoomies and sounds like one rolling down the stairs at 2 a.m.

Pumpkin, aka Fuzzbutt, aka Miss Priss (RIP) was our calico queen, she ruled with an iron paw and was a stone cold killer, the scourge of the rodent world.

Pips (short for Pipsqueak) is the tuxedo, the old man of the house. He’s 16 and can still beat out every other cat at speed when he hears that it’s food time. He has mad stealth skills and is relentless in pursuing his main passion … eating.

Zero is the black cat, the baby of the family. She’s 100% attitude and lip, and will follow us around letting us know at full volume every injustice perpetrated by the other cats. She likes to hide in dark places and in piles of black clothing so she can scare the heck out of anyone tripping her proximity alarm.

Photos of your felines (or whatever you’ve got!) resting on genre works are welcome. Send to mikeglyer (at) cs (dot) com
